Masters rowers from all over the country have been working hard both on and off the water to compete in Oakland, CA August 16-19th on Lake Merritt. The Masters Nationals are held each year in August, thousands of rowers come from all over the USA and beyond to compete and enjoy comradeship with their fellow rowing athletes. This year will be the first time that Masters Nationals will be held on the West Coast since 2008 and only the second time that Lake Merritt has hosted the event.
The Rowing Hands crew is excited to be heading up to Oakland to compete and help rowers protect their hands from blisters. Rowers are allowed to race in up to six events, most requiring heats earlier in the day. It’s important that the rowers keep their hands healthy for the entire regatta in order to perform at their best with their crews. Rowing Hands will help keep the athletes from developing blisters while racing and warming up.
Our friend Sarah recently showed us how she uses Rowing Hands in this video.
We are excited to see many friends from other rowing clubs, make new ones and share stories in the beer garden after the racing day has ended.
Cheers,
Rowing Hands Staff
